I had a 21lb Black and white with a lower layer of striping for 19 years. He is gone now for 3 years. He was the finest animal I have ever owned and I have had many long lived cats. Smart, warm hearted & gorgeous. My mother called him the dog with a cats face.
I will be looking for another after my 12 year old Birman passes on. He is starting to age, but he has 2 - 2 year old black and white rescue kittens to keep him hoppin til the end.

Thanks again for Cosmo, he is a GREAT cat! He learns quickly and is very loving. This morning after visiting our rooms to say good morning he went into my daughters room and meowed loudly, when she checked to see what he wanted he had brought a bagged can of cat food from downstairs "on the counter" and carried it up to let her know he wanted some. How cute is that! Although he knows he is not supposed to get on the counter.
He is such a joy.......we have a catbed upstairs for him and one night I told my husband I was gonna head up to bed and maybe we should put the kitten away (in his room until he gets older so he doesn't hurt himself) for the night, so I headed up and my husband played with him for awhile when next thing he knows the kitten sits up meows once and ran up the steps and sat at the top, my husband followed then the kitten ran into his room and plopped into his bed....it was like he acutally knew it was bedtime.....

In my family we currently have two female cats that belong to each of my daughters. One is a persian (8yrs) and the other is a tabby (9yrs). I would like to own either a siberian or a maine coon cat primarily because they are very loveable and grow to be big.
